Mr. Volodymyr PYLYPENKO
Member of Parliament, Ph.D.

                                  
Mr. Volodymyr  Pylypenko was born on 27 July 1977 in Lviv (Ukraine). 
In 1994 he entered Law Faculty of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
In 1999 he graduated from University of Lviv with Specialist’s degree cum laude and also was awarded the qualification of Translator/Interpreter in English.

Being a postgraduate student at the Department of International Law of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Mr. Pylypenko was involved in Ph.D. Research in International Law and International Justice from 1999 to 2002.  In 2005 he was awarded Ph.D. (Candidate of Sciences) in Law for dissertation “International Criminal Court under Rome Statute”.

Mr. Pylypenko held positions of legal adviser and advocate in the field of human rights for more than ten years, from 1997 to 2007.

From 2008 to 2012 he was a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (Ukrainian Parliament) of the sixth convocation, during which he was:
-         a Member of the Commission of Ukraine for Citizenship Affairs;
-         a Substitute Member of the Ukrainian Parliamentary delegation to PACE;
-         a member of working groups that drafted the Law on Judiciary and Status of Judges dated 7 July 2010 and Law on the Bar Association of Ukraine dated 5 July 2012;
-         a co-author of Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office dated 18 September 2012.

Mr. Volodymyr Pylypenko has been a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation since November 2012. He has been re-appointed to the ranks of Member of the Commission of Ukraine for Citizenship Affairs and a Substitute Member of the Ukrainian Parliamentary delegation to PACE (Member of
Sub-Committee on Crime Problems and the Fight against Terrorism and Member of Sub-Committee on Education, Youth and Sport).
