– September-November 1997 – participant in the Human Rights Law and Practice Programme organised by the Council of Europe at the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom)

– February-June 2002 – visiting scholar at Indiana University, USA, Fellow of Baku State–Indiana University Linkage Program; Research title: Use of American Experience in the Sphere of the First Amendment in Azerbaijan
