Tirana - a delegation of the Venice Commission visited Albania in the framework of the preparation of the draft opinion on the powers of a President to set the dates of elections in a parliamentary system.
The delegation met the following Albanian authorities: the President of Albania, the Prime Minister, the Speaker of the Assembly and the representatives of the majority and the opposition at the Assembly, including the Special Investigatory Commission as well as the Minister of Interior, the representatives of the Central Elections Commission and the acting President of the Constitutional Court.
The draft opinion was on the agenda of the October 2019 session of the Commission.
