Tirana – In the framework of the preparation of the opinion on a draft law concerning immovable property, which aims to finalise transitional ownership processes, a delegation of the Venice Commission visited Albania from 18 to 19 September 2019.
The delegation met MPs, representatives of several Ministries (Justice, Interior, Finance and Economy, Europe and Foreign Affairs and others), the Ombudsman and the State Advocate, representatives of the Albanian judiciary, civil society as well as representatives of the international community present in the country.
The draft opinion was on the agenda of the October 2019 plenary session of the Commission. The preparation of this draft opinion was financed through the framework of the "Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey", a joint programme funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe, and implemented by the Council of Europe.
