Following an urgent request for opinion dated 15 March 2021 by the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mr Dmytro RAZUMKOV on the draft law on amendments to some laws of Ukraine on the procedure for electing (appointing) members of the High Council of Justice and on the activities of disciplinary inspectors of the High Council of Justice, the rapporteurs met with the following interlocutors:
• Chairperson and members of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy;
• Deputy Head of the President’s Office of Ukraine, chairperson of the working group on the judiciary reform under the President’s Commission on Legal Reform;
• Chairperson and members of the High Council of Justice of the HCJ;
• representatives of the international community and NGOs.
The urgent opinion will be issued prior to the 127th plenary session (2-3 July 2021).
