In the framework of the preparation of the urgent opinion on the draft law “On amendments to certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on improving the procedure for the selection of candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on a competitive basis”, the Venice Commission’s rapporteurs held a series of online meetings with the following interlocutors:
• Parliamentary Committee on Legal Policy,
• Office of the President of Ukraine,
• Constitutional Court,
• Council of Judges,
• the international organisations present in Ukraine and NGOs.
The urgent opinion will be issued in due course and submitted for endorsement at the December 2022 plenary session.
