Warsaw – A delegation of the Venice Commission conducted a visit to Warsaw, Poland, within the context of the preparation of the opinion on the draft amendments to the Law on the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Poland. This opinion follows a request by the Minister of Justice of Poland on 15 July 2024.
The Venice Commission delegation met with the Minister of Justice, Members of the Parliament (governing coalition and opposition parties), National Prosecutor’s Office, Disciplinary Court to the Prosecutor General and Professional Liability Chamber of the Supreme Court, Chancellery of the President, Human Rights Commissioner, as well as representatives of civil society organisations and prosecutors’ associations.
The opinion will be submitted for adoption at the 140th Plenary Session of the Venice Commission (11-12 October 2024).
