UKRAINE – Request for opinion

By letter dated 24 September 2021, the Chair of the Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning of the Parliament of Ukraine, Mr. Andrii Klochko, requested an opinion on the draft law of Ukraine “On Improving the Procedure for Establishing the Impossibility of Holding National and Local Elections, All-Ukrainian and Local Referenda in Certain Territories and Polling Stations”.

The Venice Commission and the OSCE/ODIHR will prepare the opinion on this draft law jointly. It will be on the agenda of the 129th plenary session of the Venice Commission (10-11 December 2021).

The opinion will be prepared under the Quick Response Mechanism (QRM) in the framework of the EU/CoE joint programme Partnership for Good Governance”, co-funded by the Council of Europe and the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe.
