Tashkent – On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 20th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action, the Venice Commission is invited to take part in a Conference on “The role and place of the national system for the protection of human rights during the country’s modernisation: international practice and experience of Uzbekistan”. This Conference is organised by the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 24-25 October 2013.
This activity brings together representatives of national institutions as well as guests from the UNDP, the OSCE, France, Germany, the Czech Republic China, Korea, the USA and Slovakia who will exchange their experiences on international standards and national legislation and practice in the field of defending human rights.
The participation of the Venice Commission in the event is made possible in the framework of a project "Supporting Constitutional Justice, Access to Justice and Electoral Reform in the Countries of Central Asia" implemented by the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe with funding provided by the European Union and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
