Tirana - A delegation of the Venice Commission visited Albania in the framework of the preparation of an opinion on the draft constitutional amendments enabling the vetting of politicians, including through the assessment of relations of senior public officials with organized crimes. The delegation had exchanges with representatives of the Albanian authorities, as well as civil society and international organisations’ representatives.
The opinion, requested by the Speaker of the Albanian parliament, was submitted to the Venice Commission for examination and possible adoption at its plenary meeting on 14-15 December 2018.
