Venice Commission takes part in the 1st Steering Committee of the Central Asia Rule of Law Programme

The first Steering Committee meeting of the Central Asia Rule of Law Programme 2020-2023 took place online on 4 June 2021.

High level officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as representatives of the European Union and the Council of Europe took part in the meeting. Representatives of the Venice Commission in charge of the implementation of the Programme’s component entitled “Promote efficient functioning of state institutions and public administration in Central Asia” also participated in the event.

The participants of this 1st Steering Committee discussed the progress of the implementation of the Programme as well as national priorities and specific areas of cooperation for the year 2021.
