Saint-Petersburg - on 21 November 2014 the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation hosts the final round of the national moot-court competition on constitutional law amongst law schools students. The competition is held every year and is supported by the Venice Commission. Council of Europe, Strasbourg - At the 1202nd meeting, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe examined a request from Kosovo for membership of the Enlarged Agreement establishing the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission). Noting that Kosovo's membership of the Venice Commission is without prejudice to the positions of individual Council of Europe member States on the status of Kosovo, the Deputies agreed to the request and invited Kosovo to appoint a member to sit on the Commission.

Tripoli - The President of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio, accompanied by Michael Frendo and Rafâa Ben Achour, members of the Venice Commission for Malta and Tunisia, visited Tripoli on 7 and 8 January 2014 following the invitation of the General national Congress of Libya.
